"The swimming, fishing and sporting areas should bring money into the county. There is plenty here for visitors. It is just a matter of getting the word out. And I just have to say that Linton sure knows how to put on a (Fourth of July) parade."

"The Goose Pond is trying to draw people. There are many birds in the area that aren't usually here. Redbird is also a good place for ATVs, and of course Shakamak, which is in two counties, is close by and is a good place for swimming, fishing, biking, hiking and camping."

"I have only lived here four months, but I would say Greene County has historical landmarks and gives you a sense of country living. (When I moved here) I was enthused to see the covered bridge in Bloomfield, and the Goose Pond is a relaxing place to look at. Linton would also be a good place to raise a child."

"Yes, I think it is feasible (for Greene County) to become a tourist attracting area, but it will take some work. We have artistic talent all around us, but we need to have a destination where visitors can come and find items made by these artists in a few, easily located spots. The Carnegie Heritage and Art Center is beginning to fill that niche. We have been a recreation spot for fishermen, and we are becoming a bird-watching area. All these things need to be publicized more. We also need to become a destination, not a place to visit and then leave. There needs to be more reason to stay here such as more lodging and a revitalized downtown. This would encourage people to stay a while rather than stop for a quick visit on the way to another destination."
